Jens Passoth is a photographer and visual artist based in Berlin and close to Frankfurt a.M.. He was born in Dieburg (1971) and spent his early childhood in Japan.
The main focus of his work lies within portraiture and architecture - especially the interaction of people and their environment. With this approach he creates unique visual and conceptual narratives and has realised commissioned work for national and international magazines, agencies and clients in more than 20 countries on five continents since the late 1990´s.
His work has been awarded with the Aenne-Biermann-Preis and the Hansel-Mieth-Preis and exhibited at the European Month of Photography Berlin, Darmstädter Tage der Fotografie and Le Festival Voies Off d´Arles.
He studied Visual Communication at the University of Applied Sciences Bielefeld (Prof. Gottfried Jäger and Prof. Karl-Martin Holzhäuser).
He was Senior Lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt Faculty of Design in 2014/2015 and is a member of DGPh.
