KYOTO MEMORIES
Kyoto JPN 2001
Kyoto is home to most of Japans Zen gardens. Places with grown but also strongly staged nature.
The Kyoto Station area is a highly staged urbanism.
These seemingly contrasting places are predestined for Passoths photographic approach and concept, which he documents and stages in the process - combining opposites. If Marée Noire can be seen as the first proof of his later work, Kyoto Memories is the premiere and forms the foundation of his conceptual and visual language.
